The façade of the National Assembly, inspired by the Parthenon in Athens, the cradle of democracy, is adorned with statues of the Greek goddesses Athena, representing Wisdom, and Themis, symbolizing Justice and Law.

Just a few hundred meters from the Louvre Museum, where the Venus de Milo is housed, Laurent Perbos reinterprets this ancient artwork by attributing to it the attributes of certain sports disciplines represented at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Perbos's 'Beauty of the Gesture' thus falls into a realm of popular references, fostering a close bond between the National Assembly and the public.

General terms and conditions

Terms and conditions of sale for Venus statuettes

Article 1 - Purpose

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTCS) govern the contractual relationship between the artist/seller and the purchaser of the works of art offered on the website or via any other sales channel.

Article 2 - Acceptance of the General Terms and Conditions of Sale

The purchase of a work of art implies unreserved acceptance of these GSC. These may be modified at any time by the artist/seller. The applicable terms and conditions are those in force on the date of the order.

Article 3 - Ordering

Orders may be placed online via the artist's/seller's website, by email or by telephone. Any order placed implies a firm and definitive commitment on the part of the buyer.

Article 4 - Prices

The prices of the works of art are indicated in euros (€) including all taxes (TTC), excluding delivery costs. Delivery charges are payable by the purchaser and will be specified before the order is validated.

Article 5 - Payment

Payment for works of art may be made by bank transfer to the account provided by the seller. The work remains the property of the artist/seller until full payment has been received.

Article 6 - Delivery

The works of art are delivered to the address indicated by the purchaser at the time of ordering. The artist/seller undertakes to dispatch the works as soon as possible as from the 12th of august. Delivery times may vary depending on the destination and transport conditions.

Article 7 - Withdrawal and return

In accordance with the legal provisions in force, the purchaser has a period of 14 days from receipt of the work to exercise his/her right of withdrawal without having to justify his/her reasons or pay any penalties. The cost of returning the work is borne by the purchaser.

Article 8 - Guarantee and liability

The artist/seller guarantees that the works sold conform to their description and are free from defects. In the event of non-conformity or defect, the purchaser may request an exchange or reimbursement of the work. The artist/seller may not be held liable for any damage resulting from the use of the works.

Article 9 - Intellectual property

The acquisition of a work of art does not entail the transfer of the related intellectual property rights. The artist/seller retains full copyright over his/her works. Any reproduction or representation of the works without prior authorisation is prohibited.

Article 10 - Personal data

The personal data collected when the order is placed is used to manage the order and the commercial relationship. It may be communicated to partners of the artist/seller for the execution of orders. In accordance with the French Data Protection Act, the purchaser has the right to access, rectify and delete data concerning him or her.

Article 11 - Applicable law and disputes

These GCS are governed by Belgian law. In the event of a dispute, the parties undertake to seek an amicable solution before resorting to legal action. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Belgian courts.
